About Vemana
Reddy Community has the unique previlege that "YOGI VEMANA" was from that community. He renounced all the worldy pleasures, became a "YOGI" wandering about with a loin cloth. Life had taught him many lessons and he began to put all these in beautiful Telugu verses known as "Vemana sathakam" to enlighten the public. His verses are so terse, down-to-earth and simple to understand. These verses carry truths which make the life of an individual really sublime. He never wrote them sitting in one place. He went on composing extemporarily as and when a situation arose. He is popularly known as "YOGI VEMANA" and "PRAJAKAVI VEMANA". Therefore to show our gratitude to that great soul the trust is named after him as "YOGI VEMANA EDUCATIONAL AND WELFARE TRUST".
